Graft and Corruption


Graft – in government, the act of an elective or appointive public official, an officer or employee, in demanding or accepting cash or anything of monetary value, from a person or entity, the end result of which causes in the corruption of government laws, rules and regulations, policies or corruption of normal systems and procedures in a government office and institution.

Corruption – in government, it is the effect of systemic disruption and the alteration of the normal operation of a public office or institution due to the occurrence or influence of authority or power that results in the violation of governmental laws, rules and regulations or policies thereby inducting other elective or appointive public official, an officer or employee to commit graft.
